Jean-Yves Lacroix is the founder and senior designer of Lacroix Design, L.C. He brings a unique blend of experience to benefit his clients, conveying the new and the old worlds, and proposing both a creative and hands-on approach. Jean-Yves is perpetuating the Lacroix family tradition of innovation and entrepreneurship. His father, Daniel Lacroix, was the co-founder and for many years CEO of the famous Skis Lacroix. Daniel was a renowned manufacturer of custom-built chalets located in the foothills of the French Alps.
After a professional degree of Carpenter and Cabinetmaker from the Ecole des Arts et Métiers, in Geneva, Switzerland, Jean-Yves graduated in 1986 with a diploma in Architecture from l?Ecole d?Ingénieurs , also in Geneva. Jean-Yves started his career in France, sharpening his skills in both residential architecture and industrial design. He then decided to join the family business in order to master the art of designing and building handcrafted chalets. It was during this period that he developed his personal approach, valuing quality, aesthetics, and eco-sensitivity.
In 1989, Jean-Yves, in search of new perspectives, decided to relocate to the United States, and naturally, as a mountain lover and avid skier, chose Park City, Utah. Further in his career, Jean-Yves conducted extensive research and created his first brand ?Symbiosis,? an engineered home, which is expandable, flexible, and highly environmentally sensitive. He not only planned and researched it, he also built it by himself. This specific project took more than two years to be fully realized. Meanwhile, Jean-Yves kept specializing in upscale residential.
Today, Jean-Yves shares his time between his offices in Bois d?Amont, France and Park City, Utah to respond to the various needs of his clients. He always enjoys applying his creativity and expanded knowledge to the design of fine residences, chalets, and engineered homes.
